The SF house is the transformation of an old house. Adding a new floating volumne and substatially transforming the retained aspects of the old house creates an unexpected spatial fusion and sequence of spaces. The sloping garden becomes a conceptual living carpet that is threaded through the house and connects front and rear gardens. A vertical triple story space creates a new core that the living spaces spiral around and upwards towards a new roof to deck.
