Construction

The construction for the PE Residence is currently being being completed.

The design is driven by the idea of continuous spatial flow that is structured by multiple courtyards. The courtyards bring both abundant natural daylight and privacy to the core of the house. As a second layer of custom cabinets that become spatial screens further gives definition to the spatial organization without interrupting the generousness of the overall spatial perceptions. The spaces will unfold gradually and in layers of transparencies and opacities.

A laneway house adds further to the flexibility and affords multi generational coexistence on a standard 33-ft lot.

The garden surface is sculpted three dimensionally to flow through the house. Together with the concept of the side yards this will give a feeling of a much larger house since interior spaces are consistently extended and visually expanded into the landscape. The total area is 2900 sq ft, yet it will feel much larger.
